Just found out that NBA.com has used video clips from EA Sports' NBA Live 2006 to "officially" preview and illustrate each team for the coming 05-06 season, man. What a perfect business alliance that has been becoming more and more seamless each and every year. I've been playing this game series for six years – that's to say, an old enthusiast that still uses keyboard stroke combination to get into the action, but still has the strong feeling that, a video game was just a video game and a real NBA game is a real NBA game, the huge gap between them is actually unfillable, no matter how advanced the animation technology is going to be, how realistic the salesmen claim the games are, or how drastically the AI of your rival will be improved when you connect to EA Online. Using a video game illustration to promote the video game was commercially acceptable but cognitively misleading for those who want to know NBA and real basketball. However, it's still quite exciting to see some familiar crossovers, dunks and freestyle moves.
