Bosh & Censorship
Ha, I didn't vote for him, just because the rule of voting for NBA All-Stars is pretty much based on their teams' current records and how well the player was doing in his past career. Bosh is a big young star, but just because the Raps were in deep trouble in last November and many basketball fans outside of Toronto area don't even care about any of Raptors' games, I don't think he'll make his debut in All-Star despite any kind of efforts from the local fans.
And BTW, I'm just listening to the podcast of ZDNet's The Dan and David Show, I pretty much agree to one of Dan's points, which looks like to be the consensus amongst many oversea Chinese and those who are doing reseach on China's censorship problems, that the technology, the internet, is simply an unstoppable force just like a water flow in the coming decades that delivers all kinds of information to the people all around the world, no matter whether the information propagation is deemed as detrimental or beneficial to a certain group of people. The standard to filter and censor those information is exclusively based on each well-educated individual's own concern, value, tradition, and culture, etc., but not a single government's own interest that's using all kinds of techniques to compellingly prevent the information flow so that its people are not able to see what's really going on outside of their country. The free speech on the internet, given time, I guess would be truly realized someday in the future with the ongoing and deep development of high tech, the richness and good education of people all around the world.
FW: Chris Bosh Needs Your Help...
Hey Zhao,
As a Raptors Insider, we know you're among the most loyal and rabid of Raptors fans. So we're reaching out to you to help us give our man Chris Bosh some help.
All-Star balloting has been rolling for some time now and Chris Bosh is only ninth in voting among Eastern Conference forwards. Bosh has 215, 684 votes while the second-place vote-getter (who Bosh would have to pass in voting to start) has 931,671.
You know. You've been watching. Bosh in unquestionably developing into one of the most dominant and unstoppable big men in all of the NBA. So, all due respect to those we're about to mention, how is it that Ron Artest, Grant Hill, Chris Webber and others are leading our guy in votes for the All-Star Game? That's just not right!
But Zhao, this is one of those few times in life you can help right a wrong. Follow this link and you can help get Bosh to the All-Star Game in Houston. Remember you can vote everyday!
Think this is an impossible hill to climb? Well Zhao, let's do the math. This email is going out to approximately 50,000 people. If each one of us takes 60 seconds each day to vote and we convince our friends and family to do the same, we can do it! Remember we only have one week of balloting left!
Along with being one of the most talented, Chris is one of the classiest guys in the NBA. No one deserves to represent the league, the Raptors and the city of Toronto more.
Place your vote now and, as always, thanks for being a fan!
