I signed up for my first Hotmail account in 1996 when a tech savvy friend told me this would be the wave of the future. But somewhere along the line, Microsoft just stopped caring. Microsoft now thinks it will again ride the wave of the future with 'Kahuna,' the code-name for its new Windows Live Mail being beta tested by about 1 million users.
